Nominated for a Midwest Emmy®, Mikva! Democracy is a Verb premiered on WTTW (PBS, Chicago) in 2021, and aired on 100 Public Television channels throughout the U.S.

The film tells the story of the late Congressman and Judge, Abner Mikva (the famous ‘nobody that nobody sent’). This sweeping history shows Mikva prevailing over the powerful Daley machine, challenging the National Rifle Association, amending the Constitution to give 18-year-olds the right to vote, striking down the Pentagon’s ban on gays in the military, and grappling with the 1978 neo-Nazi invasion of Skokie, Il and how his work is being carried on today by his legacy organization, the Mikva Challenge. The film features interviews with Mikva protégée President Obama, Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky, political consultant David Axelrod and former Presidential advisor Newton Minow.
